Pastor Walworth was ordained June 21, 2015 and installed as Mill Neck/Lutheran Friends of the Deaf Director of Deaf Ministry Resources and Missionary at Large to the Deaf in Michigan. On November 19, 2017 he accepted the call and was installed at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Later that year he was installed in Our Savior Lutheran Church of the Deaf to serve Our Savior and Redeemer as a dual parish. On December 20, 2020 he accepted the call to serve Emmanuel and shortly after Our Savior Deaf again as a dual parish.
Pastor Joel Baseley was born and raised in West Allis, WI. He has degrees in education (B.A.), Chemistry (M.S.) and Theology (M.Div.) and served a parish in upstate New York before serving as Associate Pastor at Emmanuel in 1994. He served as Administrative Pastor from 2012 to 2022. In January 2022, he became Assistant Pastor. He has self-published about 20 books including translations from the German Theologians as well as original books in theology available from his website, Mark V Publications.
Pastor Paul Wolff
Pastor Paul Wolff faithfully serves as the associate pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and has served in the Detroit area for 10+ years. He graduated from Concordia Seminary in 1996, and lives in Southfield, MI, with his dear wife, Kaye.
Kantor Schultz was born and raised in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. He has degrees in Education (B.A.) (M.E.P.D) and Church Music (M.C.M). Mark has served congregations for over 38 years as a full-time Minister of Music in Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Michigan before coming to Emmanuel to faithfully serve as Kantor in 2018. He has written several compositions for use in the church and has several organ preludes published at Northwestern Publishing House.
Mark is married to his wife, Ramona. They have two daughters, Emily and Stacey. Emily and her husband Jeff have two children, Vivian and Bennett.
Sheryl has been married to her high school sweetheart, Pastor Rod Schultz (St. Luke Lutheran Church, Clinton Twp., MI) for 35 years. They have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. Joshua & Amy (Claire, Micah, Anna, & Lucy), Erik & Eva (Madelyn, Olivia, & Estella), Justin, and Sadie & Brad Hura (Charlotte). Sheryl graduated from Lansing Community College in 1986 with an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences, and was a licensed Dental Assistant in the State of Michigan. She “retired” from that vocation in 1989 to be a full-time wife and mother. Sheryl joined the staff at Emmanuel in May of 2011 and wholeheartedly enjoys serving the family of believers at Emmanuel in the capacity of church secretary. Her hobbies include caring for her grandchildren, cheering on the Michigan State Spartans, and reading.
