New Lutheran Study Bible Available
    LUTHERAN STUDY BIBLE NOW AVAILABLE

New Men's Group Started

A new men's group has been formed, Brothers of John the Steadfast.  They have agreed to meet monthly the second Saturday of each month from 7-9am in the Media Center for breakfast and time studying the Book of Concord (the Lutheran Confessions).  The objectives are: To encourage men to be the spiritual leaders of their family and church; study and promote the Lutheran Confessions; and promote Issues, Etc. and other Lutheran media. The first meeting is scheduled for January 9th, 2010 and we will discuss the Preface to the Book of Concord.  For more info, contact Ron Pierani at 313-721-1979 or Ed Popyk at 313-359-3960.  This group is a charter member of the national organization, Brothers of John the Steadfaststeadfastlutherans.org/


Interpeted Service for Deaf to Begin
   ASL SIGN LANGUAGE WORSHIP SERVICE TO START SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST AT THE 11:00AM WORSHIP SERVICE.

This is thanks to a grant through Ephphatha Lutheran Mission Society and the LWML.  The Third Sunday of each month an interpreter will sign at the 11:00am Worship Service.  This will be kicked off on the February 21st Worship Service with the Rev. Tom Dunseth, Michigan District Missionary in attendance signing along with many deaf Lutherans from the area.   For more info on the work of Ephphatha Lutheran Mission Society, see their site at www.elms4deaf.org

Wednesday Lenten Services Scheduled
     REVELATION FOR LENT


    This year's Wednesday Lenten Series will focus on letters to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3.  These Lenten Services will seek to provide you with comfort, compassion and forgiveness as we hear the Lord's encouragement to these seven churches depicted as golden lampstands.  There will be an accompanying Daily Devotion booklet available to all at no charge which follows this theme as well.  It will begin on  Ash Wednesday, February 17th at 7pm and continue on the following Wednesday evenings till March 24th.  Each of these Wednesday Services will be proceeded by a Light Supper in the Fellowship Hall beginning at 6pm. 

LCMS Relief Effort for Chile Earthquake Begun
The World Relief and Christian Care organization of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod is active and accepting donations for relief to the Chilean church and people through the following link: www.lcms.org/pages/internal.asp

GOOD FRIDAY: APRIL 2
12:00pm-3:00pm--Tre Ore Worship Service (meditations on Seven Last Words of Christ from the Cross)
7:00pm--Tenebrae Service (Service of Darkness)

VIGIL OF EASTER: APRIL 3
6:00pm (This long-standing tradition of the church commences the Easter celebration as a Serive of Light.  It begins with a procession of candles and continues with a Service of Readings and the Service of Holy Baptism.  For many this is one of the special times of the Church Year)

EASTER SUNDAY: APRIL 4
6:00am--Sunrise Worship Service
7:00am--Easter Breakfast Served
8:15am--Easter Divine Service
11:00am--Easter Festival Worship
