New Men's Group Started
A new men's group has been formed, Brothers of John the Steadfast. They have agreed to meet monthly the second Saturday of each month from 7-9am in the Media Center for breakfast and time studying the Book of Concord (the Lutheran Confessions). The objectives are: To encourage men to be the spiritual leaders of their family and church; study and promote the Lutheran Confessions; and promote Issues, Etc. and other Lutheran media. The first meeting is scheduled for January 9th, 2010 and we will discuss the Preface to the Book of Concord. For more info, contact Ron Pierani at 313-721-1979 or Ed Popyk at 313-359-3960. Interpeted Service for Deaf to Begin
ASL SIGN LANGUAGE WORSHIP SERVICE TO START SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST AT THE 11:00AM WORSHIP SERVICE.
This is thanks to a grant through Ephphatha Lutheran Mission Society and the LWML. The Third Sunday of each month an interpreter will sign at the 11:00am Worship Service. This will be kicked off on the February 21st Worship Service with the Rev. Tom Dunseth, Michigan District Missionary in attendance signing along with many deaf Lutherans from the area. Wednesday Lenten Services Scheduled
REVELATION FOR LENT
This year's Wednesday Lenten Series will focus on letters to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3. These Lenten Services will seek to provide you with comfort, compassion and forgiveness as we hear the Lord's encouragement to these seven churches depicted as golden lampstands. There will be an accompanying Daily Devotion booklet available to all at no charge which follows this theme as well. It will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 17th at 7pm and continue on the following Wednesday evenings till March 24th. Each of these Wednesday Services will be proceeded by a Light Supper in the Fellowship Hall beginning at 6pm. |
