Has your teacher posted the rules of the classroom? Rules are like guidelines for good living. They help us know what to do, how to act, and how to get along with the people around us. I wonder what it would be like without any rules. Our world definitely would be different. Sometimes we break the rules and we are disciplined. The writer of Hebrews talks about discipline being painful, but when we learn the rules and follow them they give us peace.(Hebrews 12) Our great God, through our earthly teachers, is leading us to live like forgiven sinners for Jesus’ sake. Through God’s Word and with the power of the Holy Spirit, we grow in God’s grace and truth. That is a fishing story we can’t wait to tell others.
Tonight, we will be hosting a Mini-School Night which is designed to give you a chance to see what your child will be learning throughout the year. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary for a brief time and then it is off to the classrooms. We should be completed by 7:30 p.m. We hope to see you.
Please plan on joining us for Christian Education Sunday, September 19, at the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Your child will be singing in that worship service to help us really kick off the school year. Then plan on staying for lunch in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. In order to help us plan for the meal, please fill out the attached form in this ELS News and return it to your child’s teacher by Monday, September 13.
Have an ”Amazing” week!

Bulldog Wear Day Friday is our first Bull Dog Wear Day. Your child may wear jeans and his or her Bulldog t-shirt, hoodie, or sweater, all for $0.50. If you don’t have Bulldog wear as yet, you may wear jeans with a regular uniform shirt for $0.50. Bulldog wear helps support our school’s athletic program and provides a day where we can show our school spirit. So put your Bulldog wear on!
If you are looking for a church home: Emmanuel’s service times are listed on our calendar. We would love to have you worship with us. Adult information classes will be starting soon, and you may call the church office, 313-565-4002 for more information.
Due to a new insurance regulation: a copy of your health insurance card needs to be on file in the school office. When those first field trips arrive we will need that information. Just drop by the school office and have the secretary make a copy for us.
