Day 4



Sunshine in the Capitol! We finally had a beautiful day at the Potomac River and Mount Vernon. We toured George Washington's home and the grounds and saw his and Martha Washington's final resting place. The home was decorated with bright colors in the British style of the time. Day 5 plans



For our final day in DC we're going to wake up early and leave for home at about 8. We're going to make it home hopefully around 6pm. Thanks again for following our blog and we're looking forward to seeing you all next week at school!

Day 3



Here comes the sun! First we drove to Arlington National Cemetery and saw the graves of the Kennedys, William Howard Taft, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We also saw the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We toured Robert E. Lee's home and the largest mass gravesite from the Civil War- 2111 unidentified soldiers! ...

Day 2



Rain, rain, didn't go away! First we stood in line for almost an hour in the cold and rain at the National Archives... but it was WORTH  IT! We saw the Magna Carta, the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and an exhibit on the Civil War. Then, still in the rain, we headed to the Air and Space Museum. We ...

Day 1



Rain, rain, go away! We started at the U.S. Capitol. We enjoyed the Rotunda and the Whisper Room.
